Connecting with Your Audience: 4. Are You Ready?

Practice Video Introduction

Just like in the in-person Dangerous Decibels Educator Workshops, we want you to have the opportunity to practice delivering the Dangerous Decibels Program. Since we can’t do this live and in-person, we are asking you to video yourself delivering the Dangerous Decibels Program during a practice session and submit it to us for review and coaching.
If you happen to know someone else who is taking the online Dangerous Decibels Educator Training at the same time as you, you are welcome to team up or practice with each other.

We will use the video to review your understanding of the Dangerous Decibels program content and to provide you some coaching and gentle feedback to help you continue to improve your skills.

The video review will also permit Dangerous Decibels to maintain a minimum standard of readiness to deliver the Dangerous Decibels Program and maintain consistency across educators. This is part of our 20+ year success story.

In order to receive your certificate as a Dangerous Decibels Educator you must:

  1. get an “acceptable” review of your video,
  2. complete each of the online training modules and,
  3. satisfactorily answer the questions at the end of the training.

If the video reviewer(s) do not feel you have met the minimum “acceptable” standard, then you will be asked to submit another video for further review. Using the self-critique rubric should help you understand these expectations and we expect most everyone to pass this easily if they plan and review the materials as you have been guided. In our experience, it is usually the individuals that do not prepare in advance that struggle in the practice session/video.

Most everyone has fun and learns a lot during the practice session. It’s when you really get to apply all that you have learned up to this point!

Put the following Dangerous Decibels Program modules in the order they are delivered in. (Can you tell the program “story” in order?)
