Practice is Essential

We have learned over the past 20 years that practicing your program delivery is essential in terms of preparing you to implement the program for students in your schools and community. Even when individuals are hesitant to practice, they find that practicing the program delivery is one of the most useful aspects of the training when it is completed.

Watching you practice is also essential for us in terms of coaching you to deliver the program as accurately and completely as possible from the very beginning. We recognize that there is a lot of information to include in the Dangerous Decibels program, but if you use the program resources, you will find the program activities flow from one to the other without having to do any memorization. These are your key resources to use as you practice:

The first time you practice delivering the Dangerous Decibels program you may feel like it does not flow smoothly from one activity to the next. That is okay, with time and more practice you will be able to string all the modules together efficiently and easily.

Having an audience for your practice session is also essential. The Dangerous Decibels program is interactive and engages others. Without having a small group of people/kids to practice with, it won’t feel the same and you won’t be able to discover how well you implement the activities and interact with the students. The “students” that you invite to participate in your practice session with you will have fun and so will you!
