Earplug Fitting Tips:

The steps to fitting an earplug are very explicit in order to assure the earplugs will be inserted properly and fit well. The students need to be able to follow multiple instructions in sequence, so be clear and concise when giving the fitting instructions.

Note: Individuals who have surgically altered ears, implanted medical devices in their ears or any medical conditions that contra-indicate the use of earplugs should refrain from this demonstration and you might possibly substitute by letting them try wearing the earmuffs. However, the earmuffs would have to be returned to the instructor afterwards.

Reuse and Cleaning Tips:
Earplugs should not be shared with others; however reusable types can be washed in mild soap and lukewarm water, dried and then reused by the same person. Earmuffs can be shared if cleaned in between users. Wipe the outside with mild soap and lukewarm water and let air dry or use disinfectant wipes. Do not immerse in water.
